Starletta Mae Kerley, 59, went to heaven at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at her residence in Murphysboro
She was born January of 1959, in Murphysboro to Purle and Alfreda Alstat. She graduated from Elverado High School and J. A. Logan College.
Starletta married James R. Kerley in July, 1977.
She was a cosmetologist and ran her own business.
Star is survived by her husband, two children Joshua (Amanda) Kerley, and Stephanie (Neil) Black;
five grandchildren; her mother;
eight siblings including Pat Gott, Purle "Butch" (Cathy) Alstat, Aleta (Terry) Riebeling, Debbie (K.R.) Sullivan, twin sister Charletta (Jeff) Doerr, Judy (David) Jones, Ted Alstat, and Daniel Alstat;
mother in law: Pattie Kerley:
one brother in law John (Debbie) Kerley;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, father in law James E. Kerley, and one brother.
Starletta had a strong faith and God performed many miracles in her life as she battled cancer.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale, and visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
