Obituary for Jane House (Crane)
Jane House, 83, passed away at her residence in Murphysboro on Sunday, April 1, 2018.
Jane was born on June 1, 1934, in DeSoto, Illinois, to Lester Crane and Lorene (Hawkins) Crane.
She had worked at the former Brown Shoe Company in Murphysboro and she was an elderly caregiver and had worked at the former Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro. She used to crochet and quilt and she made cookies.
Mrs. House was a member of the First Assembly of God in Murphysboro.
Jane married Fred House, Jr. on October 1, 1949, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2016.
She is survived by four children and their spouses Fred and Susan House of DeSoto, Rev. Linda and John Burnett, Kenny and Ruby House all of Marion, and Carla and Jim Green of Murphysboro;
eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren;
three brothers Leonard Crane, Roy Crane, and Walter Crane;
and four sisters Lizzie Launius, Helen Russell, Arlene Reinhart, and Lillian Johnson.
She was preceded in death by infant twin sons Ronnie and Donnie House, one sister Alice Launius, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Akins officiating and burial at Worthen Cemetery.
